Clues embedded in the plot have led to multiple metaphorical interpretations of the plot, such as a tale of a faltering relationship or the development of the atomic bomb. The game features traditional aspects of the platform genre; the player runs, jumps, and climbs through a linear set of stages while solving puzzles and defeating enemies. The player may also manipulate time, such as by allowing actions to be “rewound”, even after death, or by creating a shadow doppleganger to repeat actions previously performed. A Microsoft Windows version, ported by Reactor Zero, was released on September 15, 2009. The game is the third installment in the Red Faction series.

In Red Faction: Guerrilla, the player takes the role of Alec Mason as he assists the Red Faction to disrupt and overthrow the Earth Defense Force (EDF) on Mars. This is presented to the player in a third person perspective, a departure from the series’ previous two games which were first person shooters. Developer Volition changed the camera perspective to help the player see and appreciate the surroundings as they are destroyed.

Much of the game centers around the game’s Geomod 2.0 engine, which allows for buildings, cover, and other structures to be dynamically destroyed. In many cases, destroying buildings will leave behind salvage, the game’s form of currency, which can be used along with salvage rewarded by completing missions to unlock and upgrade weaponry and technology at safehouses. During the campaign, the player is equipped with a sledgehammer-like weapon, along with up to 3 other weapons or explosive devices. The player also has the opportunity to control armed vehicles such as tanks and walkers for more destructive options. -Wikipedia.org

10. God of War Series

First off, I don’t even own a PS3. I have never played any of the God Of War games but I consider this to be an essential purchase still if you’re a fan of video game and general epic movie soundtracks in genreal. There are several different artists here splitting up the tracks which usually I don’t like but its so hard to tell a difference in the sound and quality so this is one of the rare multi-artist soundtracks that pull it off so smoothly. If you’re a fan of the game then i’d imagine you’d enjoy this just as much, if not more then me!  -Amazon.com Review

On March 16, 2010, the score of God of War III – composed by Gerard K. Marino, Ron Fish, Mike Reagan, Jeff Rona, and Cris Velasco – was released as downloadable content (58 minutes and 42 seconds in length) through the God of War III: Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Trilogy Edition by SCEI. The God of War Trilogy Soundtrack was released with the God of War III: Ultimate Edition (North America) and Ultimate Trilogy Edition (Europe, Australia, & New Zealand). -Wikipedia.org

9. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Following his score for “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune”, composer Greg Edmonson returns to accompany Nathan Drake on his latest adventure, “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves”.  With “Drake’s Fortune”, Edmonson provided a rich score that perfectly matched the lush, colorful jungle environments from the game. While it did have some nice themes, the score mostly felt like background music/underscore, with little identity from track to track. It’s incredibly effective within the game, and is enjoyable enough to listen to, but overall, it just lacked a certain something.

However, with “Among Thieves”, Edmonson outdid himself. As the locales have changed for the game, as has the sound, though the style is very much the same as the first score, so they fit together well. This time around, Edmonson gives the score a more exotic, Oriental feel, though he never relies on any cliches one might expect of such a score. Also, the “Among Thieves” score offers more in the way of melody, utilizing more of “Nate’s Theme” than its predecessor really did. The action cues here are also top-notch, each with their own sound and identity, and aren’t quite as interchangeable as the action music from the first game. -Amazon.com Review

8. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

I am a huge Metal Gear Solid fan, and when I heard that Harry Gregson-Williams would be joining in to compose the second game I got so excited, and was even more excited when he stayed for #3. Hans Zimmer is my favorite composer of all time, and I absolutely love every composer that comes out of Media Ventures. Williams keeps the feel of the original soundtrack, but adds his trademark techno spin to it.

Fans will recognize the same style in Spy Game, Phonebooth, and The Rundown. The game becomes a film all because of the amazing talents of Williams. It’s also interesting that he composed all the music solely based on Hideo Kojimas descriptions of atmosphere and actions. Usually scores are composed when a finished film has been presented to the composer, here Williams worked only off of sketches and writings. But the price here on Amazon is very high, at GKWorld they sell it for 13 dollars brand new. -Amazon.com Review

7. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

When playing a video game as much as Modern Warfare 2, some of the musical beats may be engrained in their brain. And even though these beats may be short, they are there. The Modern Warfare 2 soundtrack expands upon these familiar beats into full-length tracks. The results are surprisingly good.  Most/all of the music comes from the underrated portion of the game. From the opening title credits music, to when you first walk out in a war-torn Washington DC, to the momentous end credits.

The score completes the game, and since it’s done by Hans Zimmer, you know it’s going to be highly professional, and at least some of it is going to be memorable. I’ll say this about the soundtrack, is that it certainly fits the mood of the game. It’s the type of music you’d find in a war film, and action movie, or a fast-paced drama. In fact, the only problem I have with the soundtrack is the title naming. It would be nice to know which track is from which particular scene. If you know the game well enough, you can guess, but it would be nice to know specifics.

Overall, if you found yourself a fan of the music found in Modern Warfare 2, by all means check this out. They didn’t have to put out this product, but they listened to the fans and gave us a great, complete package. Bravo Infinity Ward, Hans Zimmer, etc.  -Amazon.com Review

6. Battlefield: Bad Company 2

If you are part of the Bad Company “Regime,” then this is for you! My favorite is “Snowy Mountains” because it leaves you full of suspense and anticipation. Mikael Karlsson does a great job with the music! His music fits directly to this game and makes you crave jumping back into the action. I cannot wait until the new Medal of Honor comes out and I know DICE and EA will take over as reigning champions of developing shooters.   -Amazon.com Review

5. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots

This is one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a while, and that includes movie soundtracks. If you are a fan of The Bourne Identity/Supremacy/Ultimatum soundtracks, written by the brilliant British composer John Powell, you will absolutely love this one. It’s in the same vein. 2 hours and 20 minutes of intense action-packed music marked by tribal drumming and eerie overtones will have you on the edge of your seat, be it at your desk or on the highway doing triple digits. Not for the faint of heart! This can safely be filed under “Buy or die.” -Amazon.com Review

4. Halo Series

The Halo Trilogy Complete Original Soundtrack collection is definitely a solid product. It includes the full soundtracks from the first and third games, plus mixes of the music from the second game, by level. To reiterate, Halo 2: The Original Soundtrack Volume 2 is included, but Halo 2: The Original Soundtrack VOLUME 1 IS NOT. This is the major complaint with the set, that the full tracks from the second game are NOT included.

That said, Volume 2 gives a good taste of how the entire game, as well as each individual level, feels. In addition to these soundtracks, a DVD about Halo Wars is included, with a few tracks and a making-of video included.  Overall, the soundtrack set is well worth the price. Purchasing this set and Halo 2: Volume 1 separately comes to about the same price as purchasing all three soundtracks individually, but without Halo 2: Volume 2 or the Halo Wars DVD.  -Amazon.com Review

3. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Anyone disillusioned with the greed and exploitation of the music industry can take some solice in this fantastic box set. Seven great CDs for an even better price. Believe me, this is the definition of worth the money. With beautiful packaging and neat little extras to boot!  Yes, some will complain about the tracks left off the soundtrack. Some omissions are so glaring, that one has to assume many were contractually motivated. No matter, though, as the soundtracks are still absurdly comprehensive and offer a great sampler of 80′s music with a healthy mix of big hits and underappreciated tracks.

“Four Little Diamonds” has quickly become a personal favorite, as has the awesome Romeo Void track “Never Say Never”. The broad variety of the seven discs make this a great addition to any CD collection, even if you haven’t played the game. From post-disco dance tracks, to the cool of Latin Jazz, to the calculated excess of pop and hard rock, to the morose stylings of New Wave and the urban poetry of early rap, this soundtrack set embodies the surprisingly rich musical diversity of the much malligned 80′s. I can’t think of anyone putting out such an eclectic and complete set as this. This hits all its spots, and I highly recommend it. -Amazon.com Review

2. Mass Effect

I think that people looking at this soundtrack will take little convincing to buy it. Like me, they probably thought that Mass Effect was absolutely brilliant and, at some stage, realised how much they liked the original music as well. Game soundtracks can be a bit weird – often not sounding as well on their own as when you actually played the game. Fortunately, the Mass Effect OST is mixed and sequenced well enough that it retains the qualities of its in-game counterpart.

However, it isn’t without fault – when I went through it the first time (and a few other reviewers have already pointed this out), I was a bit shocked to realise that a few music pieces are missing altogether. These are mostly the minimal, ambient pieces you hear in different parts of the game, as well as some of the generic music you would hear when you were visiting the game’s many unchartered planets. This is unfortunate, because I actually liked some of these pieces of music more than the main quest and primary mission themes.

Furthermore – and, again, others have pointed this out – the tracks mostly feature only one ‘loop’ of each stage in the compositions. So, all those intense little musical moments that would occur throughout a major combat setpiece (as in track 14: ‘Protecting the Colony’) seem very short here. Another example is track 3, ‘Eden Prime’ – a fantastic ambient composition that, at 1m 34s, is far too brief, and hardly does justice to the quality of the music.

I am making the Mass Effect OST sound really disappointing when, truthfully, it is far from. However, it seems as though a second disc would have allowed the producer to put all of the game’s music on here and, on top of that, extend the compositions a little so it functions more as a stand-alone album, rather than a ‘best of’ compilation. All that aside, it is one of the best game soundtracks in years, and it is always great to see game music commercially available.  In short, buy it if you are a fan of Mass Effect, and loved its music. I’m a bit hesitant about recommending it to anyone else, however.  -Amazon.com Review

1. Final Fantasy X

This is the full IMPORT OST. Just check out how many songs it has on it. I purchased the smaller Domestic copy before i realized what i was getting into. I immediately turned around the found this copy to purchase. The music is fully orchestrated for the several pieces, some with smaller chamber ensembles. But on a whole i could tell that a lot was synthizised. The style of Final Fantasy X was leaning towards a more pop culture than it has ever before. FFX was no longer dealing with the Knights, Dragons and Black Chocobos that FF4 included, nor the classical style of FFIX.

The game itself had so many new things in it that the soundtrack had to have some new things, including the Otherworld (Zanarkand Blitzball Theme / Battle with Jehct Theme). One of the best things i have found with this soundtrack are the overworld themes, the world map music so to speak. Such as the Besaid theme, the Thunderplains theme … Such themes are perfect mood music to just have running in the low background for almost any occasion.

The soundtrack also has the Song of the Faith from each of the Aeons, including Yunalesca’s version, the Ronso Tribe version. Suteki Da Ne (Isn’t it Beaufitul) comes in two versions, all the specialized battle themes, such as the final battle with Seymour, and Yu-Yevon’s final bout.  It’s great, has some really good music on it. And the Chocobo Theme from FFX is one of the best Chocobo themes out there, right up there with the FFIX chocobo theme.  -Amazon.com Review

With free general admission, a visit to the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk Virginia is a great way to get to see one of the tourist attractions in this city without cost, especially if it is a rainy day and you can’t get to enjoy an outdoor attraction. The galleries are open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday and they are open until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays. Although you do not have to pay to visit the galleries, donations are always welcome.

The galleries of the Chrysler Museum of Art feature seven types of collections spanning the history of art over 5000 years. The collection of almost 40,000 works features art from all over the world, a collection of glass and an exceptional photography program. The building, which offers a view of the Hague Inlet of the Elizabeth River, is built in the Italianate style of architecture. It is easy to find at its location at 245 West Olney Road. The collections in the galleries are the result of efforts and donations made largely by William P. Chrysler, for whom the museum is named.

The American Painting and Sculpture Exhibit ranges from the colonial portraits of John Singleton Copley to more contemporary artists. The collections were amassed over time from the 1940’s with donations and gifts of artwork that continued until the 1970’s and 1980’s. See impressive colonial paintings and sculptures, works featuring American Impressionism and works of 19th century painters as well as the James H. Ricau Collection of American Sculpture.

The collection of European sculpture and paintings at the Chrysler Museum of Art is absolutely fantastic. Many have said that this is one of the most elegant features of the museum. It is one of the best collections in the country, featuring works by such renowned artists as Marx Reichlich and Georges Braque. This collection has continued to grow since the death of Mr. Chrysler and is an extraordinary collection indeed.

See a massive collection of contemporary art, which includes the major work of Jaune Quick-to-See’s Trade. The Decorative Arts collection includes pieces donated by the Norfolk Museum of Arts and Sciences as well as works collected by Chrysler. There is an exceptional exhibit of Southern style furniture, 18th century Worchester porcelain and Art Nouveau furniture.

The Chrysler Museum of Art is home to one of the largest collection of glass in the country due to Chrysler’s penchant for collecting Louis Comfort Tiffany. This Tiffany collection is famous the world over and features a comprehensive look at the art of blown glass. There is also a fine collection of French glass in this gallery.

The photography gallery is the only one in the museum that was not part of William Chrysler’s collection. It began in 1978 with the donation of 15 photographs by Aaron Siskand and built from there. The greatest strength of these five galleries is the core of works from the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition to the survey of the history of photography, there is a specific gallery dedicated to special mediums of photography.

In addition to the permanent exhibits at the Chrysler Museum of Art there are also exhibits on loan that change from year to year. The museum also features a travelling exhibition in which it lends works to other museums throughout the country. There are tour programs for students and teachers that contribute to the education of students in the region.

Have a snack at the restaurant with soup of the day, cold and hot foods, salads and sandwiches and a variety of hot and cold beverages. You can also have a glass of wine or a bottle of domestic beer with your meal. This restaurant is open when the galleries are open.

The museum shop features items for sale that are unique, such as cards, art work and jewellery. Any reproductions are skilfully crafted so that it is hard for you to tell the difference.

It became a great success due to its game-play, and has been released on many collections and consoles since. The music was composed by Howard Drossin, a known video game and movie composer. 6. Phantasy Star II

Phantasy Star II is a console role-playing video game developed by Sega AM7 and released for the Sega Mega Drive in Japan in 1989. It was also released for the Mega Drive in Europe and the Genesis[disambiguation needed] in America in 1990. It is the second entry in Sega’s Phantasy Star series of games that began in 1987 on the Master System. Gameplay is similar to the original Phantasy Star, the first game in the series.

The battle system is turn-based, allowing the player to choose commands for up to four characters. Each of the eight characters has a different set of preferred weapons and armor, as well as techniques, suited to the character’s job. The player must defeat enemies in the overworld and in dungeons to advance in the game. One feature that was present in the first game but not in this one is the first-person view in the dungeon, instead the regular top-down view is used (the third and fourth game also lack the original view). Shining Force II, also known as Shining Force II: The Ancient Seal, is a tactical role-playing game for the Mega Drive/Genesis console developed by Sonic! Software Planning in 1994. The storyline is not directly connected to the original Shining Force, although a Game Gear title Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict links the two games’ plots. The game is much longer than the first, and more free-roaming. There is no chapter system, so the player can return to previously visited parts of the world. There are also two different ways of promoting many characters. -Wikipedia.org

4. Sonic The Hedgehog

In the game, Sonic has to prevent Doctor Robotnik from collecting the six Chaos Emeralds in an attempt to rule South Island. The player controls Sonic as he traverses six zones, each of which is split into three “acts”. At the end of the third act of each zone, the player faces Dr. Robotnik in one of his vehicles. The gameplay centers around Sonic’s ability to run, jump, and roll at high speeds.

Levels include springs, slopes, high falls and loop-de-loops. Hazards the player experiences include a wide variety of “badniks” — animals trapped inside mechanical bodies, which are released the moment the player hits them with an attack, either by jumping or rolling on the ground. Each badnik takes one hit to destroy, but their movements and methods of attack vary greatly over the course of the game. The player must also avoid rows of sharp spikes, bottomless pits, and elaborate death traps. -Wikipedia.org

3. Sonic and Knuckles

Playable characters are Sonic and Knuckles. Unlike in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Tails is not available. Essentially, there are two separate games to tackle, depending on which character is selected at the start of the game. Although the appearance of the Zones is the same for either character, their layout and some of the bosses’ tactics differ noticeably at points (Knuckles fights EggRobo in his boss battles, who has different and particularly smarter strategies than Robotnik).

The majority of the zone differences are from the Lava Reef Zone onwards. The two playable characters have different skills and abilities available. Sonic can jump higher and run faster than Knuckles, and he has the Insta-Shield ability. Also, he can use the special powers provided by any of the shields. Knuckles can climb walls, break through bricks (that are placed to prevent Sonic from taking his path) with his fists and glide through the air for a limited period. -Wikipedia.org

2. Sonic The Hedgehog 2

The gameplay of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 builds upon the basic set-up of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game. The player finishes each level, generally moving from left to right, within a time limit of 10 minutes (Sonic dies a split second after the timer reaches 9:59, though it does not actually reach 10:00). Along the way, rings are collected and Badniks are defeated. Star posts serve as checkpoints, where if the player was to lose a life then he or she would return to one.

When the player has collected at least 50 rings, star posts can be run past for an optional Special Stage. At the end of the last act of each zone (with the exception of Sky Chase Zone which does not have a boss), Sonic confronts Dr. Robotnik. In addition, Sky Chase Zone, Wing Fortress Zone, and Death Egg Zone each have only one act, and Death Egg Zone only has two short walkways to two bosses. -Wikipedia.org

1. Sonic The Hedgehog 3

In single player mode, the player can choose to play solo, as either Sonic or Tails, or as a team, controlling Sonic, with the AI controlling Tails, which is the default configuration. Another player may take control of Tails at any time by using a controller plugged into port 2. The object of the game is to progress through the levels. In order to completely finish the game, seven Chaos Emeralds must also be collected from the special stages. Sonic and Tails in the second zone, Hydrocity.

The gameplay builds on the formula laid down in Sonic 2. Sonic and Tails are now equipped with special moves that are activated by pressing the jump button a second time while in mid air. Tails will fly if he’s out of water, or swim if he’s in water, both for a limited amount of time. In a team game, a second player can use Tails to “airlift” Sonic for a short amount of time. Both characters can gain one of three elemental shields (fire, lightning, and water) which protects against damage from that element, with Sonic gaining an additional attack from each one. If Sonic has no shield equipped, he can generate an ‘insta-shield’, giving him a split second burst of protection from projectiles and increasing Sonic’s attack radius. -Wikipedia.org

Don’t Pay More Then $5 on a DVD

Hard to believe, But this is my motto

Click edit above to add content to this empty capsule.

Its true, I will not spend more then on any movie. Even if its a new blockbuster hit that only came out a few months ago. There really is no secret, or special site or anything to it. The only catch is shipping an handling ( S&H ). Which is .89. Most of these movies I get are actually under . So if I get a movie for ( which is a lot ) and I add S&H its still under .

How are these movies so cheap? Basic rules of Supply And Demand!

Where can I get movies under

Click edit above to add content to this empty capsule.

Easy, Amazon.com. If you look in the right places you will find the best movie deals out there. Granted, They might not have your particular movie for this cheap. It may be on other sites cheaper like eBay. But most people on eBay trick you with the S&H so be careful.

The right place for these super cheap DVD’s is in the Used Section. Type in what ever DVD you want like ” James Bond Casino Royal ” and you will see several price options. You can buy from amazon.com for .49 or you can buy it new for .00 or .99 for a used DVD.

Not Everyone wants a USED DVD. But…

Click edit above to add content to this empty capsule.

Let me explain this a little. Click on ” Used ” it will most likely bring up several sellers. Read the Condition. Some will say Very Good, Acceptable, and Like New. Ask yourself, do I want a Very Good DVD or just an acceptable DVD? Also read the small Descriptions, some may say “Minor stratches. Overall works just fine. Get yours for cheap” I would not buy a DVD that says it has scratches. so make sure in the description is says things like ” Great condition, no scratches, guaranteed to play. ” Chances are if you buy a DVD and its not how the seller described you will get your money back. So its a win/win.

I will be frank, I have purchased at least 250 DVD’s from amazon this way. I have never sent anything back. One time I bought Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for less then including S&H and the case was broken, the DVD was in great condition. So I was happy to get a cool movie for under . I actually later on sold it to a lady at work for So it was definitely a good deal for me!

Excellent, so now you and your family and reap the rewards of supply and demand. As you an see its not about the actors or how great the movie is.

Jim Carey i think is one of the funniest men alive. Been watching his goofy comedy for over 10 years, he is an excellent actor. Yet his movies sell for pennies!

Al Pacino Is one of the best actors of our history. And his movies are selling incredibly cheap!

A Little Secret Trick

Click edit above to add content to this empty capsule.

I use this trick every year.

Around the new year I start adding all kinds of movie to my shopping cart. Yep, tons, at least 50 movies. I go through and place every movie I want from the used section in there. I will not pay over including Shipping for my movies. So, if a movie like Serpico, is .68 that is over my rule. I will place it in my shopping cart anyways. If that movie sells, or if a new one is listed for less then .68 I will be notified next time I visit my cart. It will tell you how much it went up or down.

So go through Amazon. Put tons of movies in your cart, even if you are not going to buy them today because they are too expensive. I use for a limit, your limit may be more or less. Remember, there are plenty of movies on Amazon selling for .01. You just have to find them.

I find the best way to find these cheap DVD’s are when you type in an actors name in the search or a title with multiple films. Like James Bond

by Ian D

The gaming industry is one that is jumping through hoops in terms of development. The game art services section of game design takes a lot of the credit since it is responsible for making the illustrations and images which appear within in the game. There are more and more people who are getting interested in gaming.

The game design industry is becoming one of the biggest employers in the market. The process of developing games requires many professionals in the industry who are involved in developing games from scratch, such as game designers, game developers, and game testers. A game can be described as a program that is installed or run from a console or PC. The games can be sold in the form of CDs, DVDs, or any other form of data storage. In recent days game programs are traded over the internet as downloadable files, making it easier to get fraudulent material. The sales of games around the world have been increasing with the passing of time. Various game development companies and suppliers such as Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have reached record sales in the past year and with technological advances in both the control and visual aspects of game development, sales trends are looking promising. Recently, iPhone Game Development has seen a huge increase, with a vibrate iPhone gaming community.

The game design industry is a potential employer, and there are some instances where the professionals in the industry make a great deal of money by selling their own creations. Gaining skills in game development can be done in the many institutions of higher learning that offer the courses. It is not hard to enroll. There are courses in the field and recent gaming news has led to higher numbers of students enrolling in game development courses. One can also learn about game development by taking online courses. If one is looking to make a few bucks on the side then one might invest in the gaming industry. A person might even get hired by the bid companies if he or she has the desired skills. If one develops a game and finds it interesting then one can try and sell it personally or perhaps even approach the game developers. Other job opportunities such as game testing require skills and common knowledge, though these opportunities are hard to come by.

The game development industry is responsible for supplying the game and gaming consoles, and according to recent technological advances in the industry the development of the consoles will hit an all-time high with features such as 3D graphics being implemented by Nintendo. The trends in the gaming industry are attracting more and more clients into the gaming world. Following the iPhone trend, the latest trend is Android Game Development which is really picking up speed as more and more people buy android phones.

If one is looking for a way to make money, then game development and game design are some of the best ideas that one can have. For the fresh learners, a course in game development could be one of the easiest ways to jump into the field. Fun with games is also one of the indoor activities that help a person to relax. Gaming also has the advantage of keeping one’s reflexes keen and sharp.

Gina Kraft is a video and mobile game enthusiast. Gina is very interested in the process of Game Development. She thinks that Game Testers are very important in the industry. She also thinks that all video game publishers should invest in game quality assurance.

How to Watch Movies for Free

Step 1

Obtain a library card and browse the selection of DVD’s that you can checkout for FREE. Some of the bigger libraries have an on-line catalog that can be accessed from any computer to see what DVD’s are available. You can browse the catalog from the comforts of your home and place movies on hold that you would like to see. You can request the library to notify you, by email or phone, when those movies are available for pickup. The movies can usually be returned to any branch of library within the consortium.

Step 2

Check with your local library to see if they host a movie night where you can take the family to the library to watch a movie. Most larger libraries host a family night and an adult night at the movies, some even provide the popcorn! A list of public libraries can be found on http://www.publiclibraries.com/. This link is also listed in the links section of the article.

Step 3

Check out the Automated DVD Kiosks popping up all over in supermarkets, drugstores and Walmarts. They rent movies for .00 per night. They are DVDXpress, Redbox and Flickdepot. There is no membership required. All you need is a credit card to pay for the movie (because everything is automated). Enter your email address a receipt will be mailed to you. You will also received emails with promo codes for FREE DVD’s. Using the Kiosk is as easy as using an ATM machine. You can also access their website to place your movie on hold, review the selections and find the nearest location. Their websites are great for reviewing the details of the movie. They also have all the hottest new releases. You can also get good deals on purchasing previously reviewed movies. Who needs to go to the video store anymore!

Additional Tips

DVD Xpress bills themself as the leader in Automated DVD Rental

Redbox is usually found in your local Walmarts and in grocery stores. What I like about Redbox is that the DVD can be returned to any Redbox location.
Flickdepot is the newest one to spring up. I was shopping in our local Thriftway supermarket and saw this one. I rented a DVD because they had the movie that I was looking for. The rental was easy and they had a good selection, however, their website doesn’t seem to be as developed as DVD Xpress and Redbox. However, they have 3 levels of memberships that you can join and earn points for DVD’s rented.
Cautions
Make sure you return your DVD back to the automated kiosk by the designated time the evening after you rented or you will be charged another dollar. Example, if the DVD is due by 9:00 PM and you return it at 10:00 PM, you will be charged for another day.
Also check your rental agreement for how long you can have the movie out. After a certain number of days(something like 25 days), if the movie is not returned, you will be charged the cost of the DVD and the DVD will be yours to keep.

The main trilogy of games center on the experiences of the Master Chief, a cybernetically-enhanced human super-soldier, and his artificial intelligence (AI) companion, Cortana. In this setting, the term “Halo” refers to Halo megastructures: large, habitable ringed structures, similar to the Orbitals in Iain M Banks’ Culture novels, or to smaller versions of Larry Niven’s Ringworld.

Organize Your DVD Collection with Free Online Catalog

Organizing your DVD Collection is easy and — thanks to the magic of the internet — free.  We’ll take a look at how to quickly build an online catalog of your movies and get the most out of an online database.

Selecting Your Online DVD Database

There are several factors to consider when selecting a site to use.  First, it should have a solid database of DVD and Blu-ray titles.  There’s no reason we should have to enter the details for our movies — a good DVD catalog site is going to do that for us.  Secondly, we’re going to look for a site that is easy to use and preferably is free.  Finally, if you have a very large collection, it will be especially important to use a site with an optimized bar code scanner.

If you do have a larger collection (say greater than 100 movies), you will a bar code scanner will make life much easier.  I recommend the Cuecat which can be found on Ebay for about (Find Cheap Cuecats).  They might be funny-looking, but they’ll do the trick and you can’t beat the price.  A scanner isn’t required, so if you have a smaller collection or are ready to get started right away, don’t let that hold you back.

Now, we’ll need to create an account at our chosen DVD database.  We’ll be using DVDCorral.com (a Free online DVD Database) as it is easy to use and has a powerful feature set.  It also happens to have an optimized scanning tool that will let us scan about 100 movies every 5 minutes.  To get started, register for an account so you can start building your collection.

Scanning Your Movies

After you create your account, click “Add Movies” to start building your collection.  You will notice you can now scan your movies, enter the UPC codes manually, or search for them.  Obviously it will be faster to scan them in, but entering the UPC codes (from the back of the DVD cover) will work fine too.  Notice as soon as you enter a movie it will auto-prepare for the next movie.  If you’re using a Cuecat, you can just scan your movies without stopping to reset the mouse or accept the submission.  NOTE: if you are using a Cuecat, be careful to hold the nose flat against the movie case.  Slide slowly from left to right and it should read the UPC pretty easily.

Congratulations!  You have now entered your collection.  Now click the “View” tab at the top of the screen and let’s take a look at what we’ve produced.  You will notice that DVDCorral has imported all the details about each movie and the front cover artwork as well!  If you’d like more detail on any particular movie, just click on the movie or the title.  Clicking “Thumbnails” will show you the cover art, while clicking on “Details” will show some of the details for each movie.  Click “Details” and notice the titles at the top of each column.  If you click “title”, then “genre” it will sort your movies by genre and then alphabetically by title.

Sharing DVDs with Friends

Now you can share your personal DVD database with friends.  Notice the link in the upper right of the screen.  Copy and paste that link and you can send friends your collection via e-mail or post the link on your facebook or myspace page.  When someone borrows a DVD (hopefully a friend who will one day return it), just click “Modify”.  You can now make note that you have lent the movie to a particular friend and track who has all of your lent movies.  To see what they’ll see, checkout My DVD Collection.

Perfect!  Now your DVD titles are up on the web.  You can even point friends to your collection so they’ll know which movies you already have and which ones they should buy for your birthday!

DvDrip movies at only 300 MB !!!

Ever wish to download movies faster? Normally DvDrip movies shared on the internet are around 700MB in file size, even though it has been compressed using the XviD codec while maintaining a reasonable video and audio quality. And for users using slower broadband, 700MB is quite a lot and will take a lot of time to download. It even make a very large space in your hardisk to store. More frustrating if you are downloading movies from the Rapidshare (RS), since most uploaders prefer to upload their movies there due to the Rapidpoints they receive. If the movie is 700MB, thus you will need to download SEVEN part of files due to the restrictions of 100MB per file by RS.

Due to that reason, and the demand of movies increasing everyday, a group of movie uploaders have been trying to post their movies in lesser than 700MB of file size. Recently, the usage of the new video codec, x264 has widespread during the last couple of years. By tweaking the ripping profile and combining with an appropriate audio codec, a DVD movie can be ripped to just around 300-400MB only, depending on the length of the movie.

The Adzapper 300MB Movies thread at Warez-bb Forum have this type of movies. All movies are compressed using the x264 codec, which is far superior to XViD. The output format is in .mkv. The sources of the movies can range from 1080P & 720P Rips/HD-Rips/DVDrips to DVDSCR/R5 (Depending on when the movie was released).

You get a quality which is identically the same to the XViD rips for less than half the size… icon smile DvDrip movies at only 300 MB !!!

How to Add The Movies To iPod

Showing favorite movies on your ipod

Instructions

1

The fifth generation ipod created the buzz since its release. Many users have enjoyed television shows, movies and music videos played on their beloved iPod video. Hundreds of software has circulated the market to rip DVD and so users can upload their favorite movies, tv shows, music video, games and other multimedia clips. iPod movies are now the latest trend among iPod fanatics.

How do you add a movie to become a part of your iPod movies? The first step is to choose what movie you want to put in your iPod movies. You can opt to download movies straight from the Internet but that might cost a bit more, around USD for a movie. It is highly recommended that users download their iPod movies through the Apple iTunes Music Store. For one thing, it is not so easy to convert DVD into iPod movies because of the possibility of incompatibility with the software. Secondly, you can be sure of the quality of your iPod movies.

If you still want to rip an existing DVD movie on to your iPod video, start by downloading software available on the web but be careful! Choose only those that support the iPod video format. Look for features that are easy to use and fast, brief interface and design. Make sure that all encoders/codecs are built-in.

The iPod video converter should be able to integrate with all video/audio encoders/codecs. It should also support a preview function so you can be sure that the iPod movies turn out well. Examples of these are PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter, Handbrake or ImTOO iPod Movie Converter v2.1. Each of these software converts all of the popular video formats to iPod Movies MP4 (iPod video format MPEG-4) and they also convert audio files to iPod supported MP3, AAC, M4A file format. The conversion process happens automatically so all you have to do is set what format you want the movie converted then set the volume and the directory to save it in. Presto! You now have an addition to your iPod movies.

But as legal issues over piracy and copyright laws are beginning to be strict, many are concerned about the future of iPod movies. Will the users be made liable for home videos or ripped DVDs downloaded on their iPod movies’ play list? The economics of iPod video distribution are very different and is dominated by the Hollywood moguls, including licensing and windowing agreements. Not to mention the progress of theatre shows to other markets like rental shops, pay TV, retail stores, free-to-air and now to iPod movies.

And what about porn? The advent of 3G technology on mobile phones has also opened the gates of thrash content when sex videos started to circulate. Will the iPod movies follow suit? Will there be a regulation in the near future of what we can or can’t download to our iPod movies? It is not too hard to see the iPod movies being used for such frivolity. After all, we are free to put whatever content we want on our iPods.

Aside from the iPod movies, the TV shows that can be played on the iPod video are endless. Right now, Desperate Housewives rule the iPod video landscape. Another great ipod feature is the video pod cast, users don’t just watch pod casts but they can also create their own. Eventually home movies will be added as users explore the iPod movies and its limits.

To fully enjoy your iPod movies, there are accessories available for your iPod video. With its TV OUT and wide screen option, you can share you iPod movies with friends inside your living room. The video quality will somewhat depend on the file compression but over-all the resolution is a great. External speakers are also available for you to fully appreciate the audio sounds of the iPod movies you are watching. Add the optional audio cable so you can play music from iPod to your home stereo or use the S-video cable play VJ on your TV. You can also perform the same big-screen feat with iPod photo slideshows and iPod movies.
