Airline travel

Carry on Luggage – The Advantage of Lighter Weight:

Attention to detail while packing your carry on bag will allow you piece of mind during your airline adventures. Just knowing that your luggage will arrive at your final destination offers you a less stressful flight.

Flying for Less With Frequent Flier Miles:

If you have never heard of travel hacking before it may sound like some type of illegal method of accessing computer systems related to the travel industry. In reality it is simply short hand description for finding ways to travel with more flexibility or for less money. Since many of us dream of travel but feel like we just don’t have the funds or the time to do it the prospect of increased flexibility and decreased cost is quite attractive.

Parking for Frequent Airport Visit:

Anyone who travels a great deal can tell you immediately that one of the most frustrating things about traveling by airplane is actually getting to and from the airport.

If you are a frequent flyer, chances are you are nodding your head right now. You know that frustration.

Tips For Enjoying Your Next Long Flight:

Many people look forward to sleeping throughout their entire flight. However, this may not be possible for everyone. By taking the items necessary for passing the time, dozing off is easier. Take along a pillow and always make sure you take a thick sweater in case the air conditioning is too cold for you. Resting on a plane is better when you are comfortable.

Just Say No! Expert Offers Alternatives to Airline Baggage Fees:

Just when you thought the flying experience couldn’t get any worse, last month Spirit Airlines began charging passengers $ 45 for any carryon bag placed in the overhead bin. While some may view this as a necessary step to keep airlines operating in the black, I think I stand for most when I classify this in one word.

Cut Costs When Flying:

Flying seems to be getting more and more expensive, and I’m not referring to the flight itself. Extra expenses in airport terminals add up quickly and, for frequent travelers, can mean big bucks. Here are some quick tips to cut back on your travel expenses next time you fly.

 Top Travel Tips by Frequent Flyers:

In the movie, “Up in the Air,” George Clooney’s character Ryan Bingham was the ultimate example of an efficient traveler. With flight delays, baggage fees and lost luggage becoming more common, what can traveling executives learn from Bingham and real-life frequent flyers? Here are five expert travel tips to help you fly more efficiently and reduce stress when on the road.

Eco travel aim at traveling with out disrupting or harming local culture or climate or damaging the ecology of that region. Preserving the natural luxuries, forest life and saving the environment around us is what the eco tourism all about.

Eco travel is a new concept of traveling, typically defined as travel to destinations where flora, fauna, natural heritage are main attractions. It also includes to enhance the cultural integrity of the people and also supports the program the minimizes the adverse effect of the traditional tourism on the natural environment.

Preservation of cultural, biological and historical resources along with sustainable development are some of the related field of Eco travel. Many well known personalities from different fields have been engaged themselves in formulating and developing ecotourism policies.

Of the many factors driving the green industry today, eco travel is one idea that is at once both attractive and controversial. So what is eco travel and why is it a hot topic of debate?

Eco Travel is a means of travel that considers economics and ecology in the decision making process of where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, where you’ll stay . . . and even what to do once you’ve arrived! At the core of understanding eco-lifestyle is the idea of minimizing our individual and collective human “footprint”, or the impact we make by our actions upon the environment. Let’s face it, every time you fly, drive your car or use other traditional modes of transportation for travel – it may get you to where you’re going fast, but the by-product produces a negative effective on the environment.

Millions of dollars are being spent by the travel industry at large.

From transportation and lodging, to service and touring organizations, the hope is to reduce or offset their business impact on the environment either because they are true eco stewards, or as a means to align themselves with a rapidly growing and highly publicized consensus that we humans “should” and desperately need to care about the one planet we all share.

Some critics are proposing an immediate and aggressive change in travel behavior, such as opting not to travel and stay at home. But for many, that is an impractical solution to a broad and complex issue. Certainly, pondering such an extreme shift can bring one to come up with a multitude of less severe options along the spectrum…many which can be applied on a personal level, and some which could be shared with family and friends to help bring a brighter awareness to the topic.

According to the Natural Marketing Institute (NMI) and Silvercliffe Media, Inc.

industry report for 2005, Eco Travel represents a $ 24.2B industry. Many countries depend solely upon tourism for their economic survival. So where do we strike a balance? For those who aren’t quite ready for homebound adventure, yet want to approach travel responsibly – here are a few resources to help you on your sustainable travel path.

Adventure Travel In Australia

Adventure travel developed as a segment of the tourism market during the latter half of the 20th century out of the more general traditional notion of outdoor recreation. Adventure travel differs from from earlier forms of outdoor recreation, however, in that it offers travellers greater opportunities to experience specific physical activities (eg. rock climbing, diving, snow-boarding, kayaking, abseiling) that involve greater levels of skill and, within acceptable limits, risk. With traditional outdoor recreation, the primary attraction is the specific setting: with adventure travel, however, travellers are attracted primarily by the activities offered. Adventure travel is therefore primarily associated with travel products where the primary purpose is to engage in activity and participatory experience rather than the more passive sightseeing associated with traditional outdoor tourism.

The travel industry has evolved considerably since the 1970s.

Changes include sociodemographic shifts which have seen a growth both the disposable income and available leisure time of many travellers. Travellers generally have become more discerning, have more travel experience, and have come to enjoy the benefits of cheaper, more convenient transport and other technological advances. As a result, substantial changes occurred in the demand for international travel products. The 1990s saw rapid growth in the evolution of specific segments of the tourism market including ecotourism, nature tourism and other special interest tourism which catered for the new breed of sophisticated traveller with both the means and the will to travel.

While travel costs will always remain a significant factor in decision-making for most travellers, the notion of tourist satisfaction is today of increasing importance. Increasingly, travel products must provide something other than simple value for money to attract tourists pursuing deeper, more satisfying purposes. In short, new patterns in travel choices have emerged to accommodate a much greater spectrum of travel interests, activities and experiences. Adventure travel today is increasingly the travel mode of choice for sophisticated travellers seeking to experience a holiday rather than simply sit in a tour bus passively sightseeing.

The increasing interest of many travellers in actively experiencing their holiday has also been matched with a rapid expansion in the range and quality of travel-related equipment available, extending the capability of tour operators to deliver more diversified adventure travel products. Australia has been at the forefront of these developments, and adventure travel is now one of the fastest-growing travel market segments in that country. Continuing to grow in their scope and appeal, it appears today that the variety and availability of adventure travel products for a broad spectrum of abilities and interests and abilities is almost limitless.

In Australia, the notion of adventure in travel is inextricably linked to that of the Outback. This means that true adventure travel is more likely to be found away from the comfortable, urban east coast, and in particular away from the area located south of the Brisbane-Adelaide line where over 80% of Australians live in urban and suburban settings oblivious to the geographic, climatic and cultural realities of the majority of the Australian continent. High on the list of authentic Australian outback adventure travel destinations therefore are Central Australia and the Northern Territory, far north and western Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia. The island of Tasmania also provides many exciting opportunities for adventure travel in unique wilderness areas.

Quality outback adventure tours in Australia are characterised by many factors, including the use of four-wheel-drive vehicles rather than buses, access to spectacular remote sites, provision of challenging adventure activities, and active hands-on participation in daily routines. The use of 4×4 vehicles typically allows tour operators to access more remote, difficult and spectacular country. By encouraging active participation in daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, setting camp and packing up, adventure tours engage travellers in the complete outdoor adventure experience rather than simply waiting on passive participants hand and foot.

But the real adventure element provided by the best quality tours takes the form of specific adventure activities ranging from bushwalking, rock climbing, swimming, snorkelling, fishing, sailing, through to more extreme activities such as diving, canoeing, abseiling, jet-skiing, quad riding, white water rafting and hot air ballooning.

Vacation Rentals

If you are traveling alone or with others, vacation rental is a new concept makes you consider because you need to know about hotels and time-shares. You couldn’t stop thinking about it, if wanting the vacation rental idea.

I’ve always wanted to vacation in Europe, haven’t we all, but I could never really give the idea credence because, in the deep recesses of my brain, I knew hotel accommodations would be just too cost prohibitive. When I began to explore the vacation rental, I realized that a European vacation might be within my grasp after all!

Comparing hotel rates with vacation rental rates, it is apparent that I can get more for less with a vacation rental. If you’re traveling with another couple or a group, the per person savings can be tremendous.

Check out this example for Paris:

I located a vacation apartment rental in the Latin Quarter for $ 1465.00 per week.

It has two bedrooms, each with a private bath. There is a kitchenette, Internet access, and cable TV. It is a five minutes walk from Notre Dame.

For 4 people, that works out to $ 366.25 per person per week or $ 52.32 per day per person.

For comparison, I located a Mid Scale hotel called Adagio Paris Opéra, in roughly the same area. The rooms start at $ 302.25 per day, which is $ 2115.75 per week, roughly $ 75.00 per person per night, based upon 4 people.

There, you have one bedroom with two single beds and a sofa bed in the living room. It also has cable and Internet access, but only one bathroom.

From strictly a cost standpoint, the vacation rental is the better deal, but there is more to consider than just money.

What about comfort? What about privacy? Certainly, the private bath is plus for the vacation rental as are two bedrooms rather than one. I like to have my own personal space in which to relax. The vacation rentals seem more like “home” than the hotel atmosphere. There are other advantages worth mentioning. Families can be together as opposed to scattered about in different hotel rooms. Then there is the problem of tipping, taxes, schedules for meals and so on. You have more room in a vacation home in which to relax. Plainly said, it is just more like home!

So, what is the downside? You will not typically find support staff on premise, so if you have a problem, large or small, its resolution may take some time. Transportation may be an issue. Look into this before you finalize your plans. You probably won’t have maid service. Be prepared to clean up after yourself. When you arrive, you may be disappointed. Hey! Even I look good in photos.

If you are diligent in your research, ask the right questions and are realistic in your expectations, you will likely find the vacation rental to be a more than satisfactory experience.

When you are going on vacation, you always need somewhere to stay. Usually, it is either a hotel, B&B, or maybe even a friend’s house. When staying in Argentina, I recommend you try vacation rentals. They are a very popular form of accommodation, and will end up saving you a ton of money.For those that are unaware, a vacation rental is an apartment, but that is used for short term stay, usually one month or less. In some instances, in can be for a few months to a year, but that is rare. In Argentina, and especially in Buenos Aires, vacation rentals are usually for a weeks time.

Tons of people are willing to rent out their luxury apartments. You end up getting a huge room, as either a studio, or one bedroom apartment. Everything is included, such as telephone, internet, and cable. The selection is so great that you can basically choose any area you want to stay in. All of this, and you can usually get the place for less than HALF of what you would pay at a hotel with similar quality rooms.The Costa Blanca, Spain is synonymous to sun and fun in the coastal area of the Mediterranean Sea. This belongs to the Province of Alicante, starting in the town of Denia and reaching to Pilar de la Horadada or Torrevieja as the last important town in the province, and part of the Community of Valencia.

As the name tells us, the White Coast is thanks to all the white, clean sandy beaches that are at your disposal to enjoy such as Javea, Moraira, Altea, Benidorm, Guardamar and Torrevieja. Lets take a closer look at some of these fantastic holiday spots. Each village is considered to be someones favourite because it has something extra special that will tickle your fancy! If you are considering a trip to the Sunshine Coast of Australia, you are definitely not alone. People from all around the world are quickly discovering the beautiful coast of Australia is the place to go, especially during the months of November to March.

After all, this is there summer and while many other regions of the world are cooling down this time of year, the Sunshine Coast is just heating up. The following are some tips for your upcoming holiday.When you go swimming make sure there are professionals nearby who are familiar with the water. It can get rough sometimes so make sure you go in where you see attendants and flags. It’s important to wear sunscreen during your visit here because the sun can be extremely intense.

Wear it even when you’re not on the beach as the sun is stong everywhere.Holiday cabins can be an excellent investment, whether you are looking for a place where you can relax or are thinking of something like caravan park cabins, where you can make a good profit from rentals. Cabin accommodation has become very popular recently, in these budget conscious times. Cozy cabins can be more comfortable, and far less expensive, than luxury hotel rooms.

One option you might consider is relocatable cabins; modular or kit homes you can simply order and have delivered to wherever you want. There are quite a few advantages to this kind of prefabricated cabin. When buying a traditional cabin, you have the choice of buying one that already exists or having one built from scratch. In the former case, you may have to deal with all kinds of repair and improvement issues.

Adventurers Needed No Experience Possible Unlimited Salary Potential

You’ve all seen the want ad:  “Executives needed. Set your own hours, earn huge bonuses, 6+ figure income, travel. Prior management, college degree, and experience required.”

It sounded great, but you weren’t eligible. You either didn’t have the management experience needed (they wouldn’t count those 4 years of directing your first spouse’s life) or you weren’t sufficiently educated.  When I graduated high school, the upwardly mobile immediately entered college, no matter what the sacrifice.  It was their ticket to possibility.

Today, teenagers who understand software programming and computer related technology are snapping up the highest starting salaries. The catch in riding that wave is that you must be knowledgeable about computers.

If that’s not you, don’t despair. My headline, “Adventurers needed:  No Experience Possible.  Unlimited Salary Potential,” advertises the career possibility of becoming an independent contractor in MLM.

Some of you are rolling your eyes now. You want to inform me that your MLM career has not been lucrative so far and that your biggest adventure has been trying to collect a paycheck.

Dear readers, take heart.  You (yes, you!) have the potential to be the Bill Gates of MLM.  Right now, in the year 2005, you are at the brink of an industry still in its infancy.  This is the magnetism of MLM — and if you can hang in there, learning the nuances of a young industry — then you can be one of its brightest superstars in time.

Only a handful of people in the world understand this embryonic niche field the way pros like my husband, Taylor Hegan, and I do.  Few people in the world have made both a four figure income or higher with several companies and earned in excess of a million dollars as a distributor, thus having a diversity of MLM experience with the “credentials” to demonstrate it.

Whether you count yourself in on that elite group or not, you can train with those who have that fundamental understanding of our industry, and you will then be qualified to call yourself on the “bleeding edge.”

To prepare yourself for extraordinary accomplishments in MLM, you must focus on industry mastery, not the end result of that mastery (money and the numbers of people).  When I mention the importance of this to typical industry “students,” if they are successful already they agree, “Absolutely, no question!”  If they have not yet made any money in the business, they reply, “Oh those so-called masters are all alike.  A lot of hype about nuts and bolts and no substance.”

Use this checklist to get yourself in the MLM game more powerfully:

1.) Read and listen to current industry experts and personal development mentors at least 20 minutes daily;

2.) Attend all your company’s major functions;

3.) Use your company’s products and/or services everyday;

4.) Focus on your potential customers’ needs;

5.) Learn every aspect of your craft from retailing to training to marketing;

6.) Be the sponsor you wish you had;

7.) Never knock a system until you have given it an adequate trial test;

8.)  Maintain all the business elements that you master as you take on new skill sets one at a time;

9.) Do exactly what your top company money earner is doing for at least 6 months without any deviation;

10.) Eliminate criticism, emphasize positives;

11.) Notice all the exciting, yet ordinary, accomplishments you see — an ice carving on a buffet, decorated cake, beautiful painting — and consider the many futile tries that probably preceded the “masterpiece”;

12.) Stay focused, focused, focused and driven to be the best you can be in the industry, NO MATTER WHAT!!!

At best, only 2 out of 100 people reading this will do more than shrug off this advice.  But, if you are one of those 2 people, you’ll feel richly blessed knowing that I wrote this column just for you . . . And reading it will have changed your career in MLM forever.

Get More Done by Getting Up Earlier!

Adapted from my original article How to Wake Up Early

Trying to get more done? Wake up early! There’s only so many hours in the day.  With a few simple steps you can reclaim a few of yours.  This article will show you how to use a few simple tools – like a computer alarm clock – to force you out of bed a few hours early.

Step 1. Ease into a new schedule.  If you usually get 7 hours of sleep and you want to bump it back to six, wake up ten minutes earlier every day.  I know you want to start using tricks and trying the computer alarm clock, but the most important thing is to adjust your body first.

Step 2. Prepare food the evening before.  You’ll save costs and time by preparing a larger dinner every night and putting some aside for breakfast.  Don’t want dinner food for breakfast? Spend a little additional time to make a breakfast and put it in the refrigerator.  Knowing you have a delicious meal waiting for you will help spring you out of bed even better than a computer alarm clock.

Step 3. Ok, ok, the computer alarm clock.  If you don’t already do this, it’s going to change your life.  No joke.  Download a computer alarm clock that automatically plays music.  Pick your favorite song (or put it on random) and make sure the volume is turned up enough.  If you download a really good computer alarm clock it’ll even give you the option to gradually fade in.  You can also find a computer alarm clock that integrates with iTunes. There’s nothing better than waking up to a great song.  It’ll make every day better.

Step 4. Not a music person? Try a film or tav show! In addition to a song, you can also set a computer alarm clock to start playing a movie.  Wake up and start watching a movie before you even get out of bed.  As an alternative to your favorites, try watching new movies too.

Step 5. Autobrew your coffee. While the computer alarm clock might drag you out of bed to turn it off, you still need to keep yourself awake.  If you’re addicted to caffeine like many people, just the smell of that coffee brewing will get you up and marching into the kitchen.  After all, it’s best when it’s fresh. Or so I hear anyways.

Step 6. If you shower at night, consider showing in the morning.  The water will help shock you into waking up.  There’s something about an early morning shower that just makes your whole day better.  You’re clean, feel refreshed, and are ready to take on the day.  Can’t stop being a shower-at-night person? Take a shower at night and just spend five minutes rinsing off in the morning.  It’s not a time saver, but if it’s the thing that keeps you awake it’ll be worth it.

Additional Tips

Another reason the computer alarm clock is fantastic is because you’re less likely to turn it off like you would a normal alarm.  You like music, so you’ll probably leave it on, and it’ll help you stay awake in that crucial period where people hit snooze and give up.

Unlike the computer alarm clock, the tip about coffee is actually unhealthy.  You become a slave to it. If you’ve been drinking it for years I’m sure you’re not about to stop because of a how-to article you read online, but if you do want to quit I have an article about that as well.
